Did you know that Salem has a bike taxi (2 in fact)?? One is always available around town and Michele can pick you up anytime and take you to your destination without burning any carbon fuel. Call her. Michele Darr, Salem Bicycle Taxi at 503-569-7223.
Michele’s husband Mark Babson is developing a bike tour of Salem historic highlights, and has taken a few such tours already (and I’m on the docket for a ride soon, so more on that later). In the meantime, give them a call and ride in style.
I once took one of these from Penn Station to the East Village in Manhattan. What a hoot!
This makes Salem seem a little more ‘grown up”. Like the idea of the tours, too.
Breakfast on Bikes will be in the neighborhood on the 24th this month! We have snacks for bike commuters and will be at 12th & Chemeketa on the promenade, 7am – 9am. I believe city staff and/or consultants working on the bike and ped updates to the Transportation System Plan will also be there. If you’re out and about on bike, come join us!
Where in the neighborhood will you be? I’ll be gone but others might like to find you…nice blog.
We’ll be at 12th & Chemeketa. Sorry that wasn’t clear. Here’s a note about our May b on b, which was also at that site!
