The Vacation Story, Part 1

Well we took a few days off and went to Idaho to visit family, old haunts, and ride the Hiawatha Trail (more later on that). All activities were successful. We began by driving around MT Hood to White Salmon

to George, Jennifer & Fanny’s house and having a yummy dinner

at which we met Fanny’s friend Fin (and I got to remind myself how good my painting looks in the dining room!!!).

The next morning we set off in two cars for Spokane where we had dinner and entered budlight country:

We pushed on to Wallace, site of Roger and Jennifer’s childhood, and spent the night, resting up for the bike-ride ahead. The next morning after our breakfast at the Red Garage Cafe (where years ago we used to buy gas) we toured around Wallace:

and discovered that Wallace has been found to be the CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE

complete with signage that makes photo-ops fun:

We decided NOT to visit the Bordello Museum this trip, so strapped down the bikes and took off for Exit 0 on I90–Lookout Pass on the border of Idaho and Montana to buy our tickets for our 14 mile ride on the Hiawatha Trail.

  1. The painting DOES look fab. Really fab. And we’re sorry you missed the Bordello Musem. Will wait for full report on next visit.
