Celebrating 85 Years!!

Roger and I were at the beach last weekend celebrating my Mom’s 85th birthday with family.  My Mom’s sister Pat and her son Don came from Wisconsin/Illinois, Howard and Amy from Washington, D.C., Bru from Seattle, Doug and Marie and Emma and Finley from Portland.  We laughed a lot, sat a lot, ate a lot and had a wonderful evening of slides remembering how cute we all were in the “olden days”.  Some highlights:

The birthday girl…June Stone Decker…born in Kansas City in 1923, fiserwoman, camper, realtor, wife and mother.

Don, Doug and Fin think about canoeing.

Lots of music.  Don and Em talk about fingering and picking, and some practicing occurs.

Every family made dinner one night–here’s H & A racing around on hamburger night.

Here’s the table with Birthday Girl in place.  Marie made a wonderful bolognese sauce and Doug was sous-chef (and I didn’t get their pictures darn it).

Mom and her sister Pat Miller enjoy the meal.

Happy Birthday Mom.  Here’s to another year of fun!!

And here’s some historical background:
