The “First Week on the Edge”

We upheld our now 16-year tradition of going to the beach for New Year’s Eve and then spending the first week of the new year resting up from the last week of the old year.  Usually I come home with pictures of beach walks and lovely views, but this year it rained and rained and rained some more.  Sadly the only pictures I have are from restaurants!  Eek.  We watched movies, read books and sat by the fire–and even finished our Christmas cards.  It was a perfect week except for the fact that we couldn’t go outside!!!!

New Year’s Eve Carol made fondue (blast from the past) and 5 of us toasted in the new year.

New Year’s day we went to Mo’s for a bowl of chowder and watch the sheets of rain come down.

The next day sushi at Momiji after some shopping.

It wasn’t a creative high-point–about all I made was a starfish with my tangerine peel:

and when we left this morning it was raining still and foggy:

A little hard to see what the new year will hold, in every way.
