The Final Proofs

By that I mean the final FINAL printers’ proofs for the book/catalog/monograph (“Image, Myth, and Modernism”) Roger Hull has written about the work of Portland painter Harry Widman, in conjunction with the Harry Widman show Roger has curated, soon to open at the Hallie Ford Museum.  The opening is Friday, January 30, 2009.  The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with a lecture by Roger Hull in Cone Chapel (in Waller Hall on campus), followed by a gala opening at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art (700 State Street) at 6:00.  Come if you can!!!  The show is a retrospective and spans 65 years of a productive career–a very interesting way to see how an artist develops themes and ideas.

  1. Looks great. Is the cover a silver metallic? Will they be able to print and bind and have copies in your hands on the 30th?
    Congratulations once again, Roger.

  2. Thanks Bru. The cover is just gray. The book is being printed in Canada and they say the paperback copies will be there at the opening. A small number of hardbound copies have been ordered (but won’t be there by the 30th)…we like those best because R’s picture is on the dust jacket!!!!
