In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the PNCA (Pacific NW College of Art–formerly the Museum School) George Johanson did a demonstration yesterday in the Museum. There was jazz (a bass and a guitar) and George drawing for two hours. Very mellow, very fun. Here’s how it looked:
George explains the excercise.
the crowd pays close attention.
After two hours of watching and listening..voila! Two nice drawings:

Cool! And that looks like Jason Okamoto playing the guiter – I love that guy. Nice way to spend a couple of hours! xoxo, blecky
Thanks for that–I realized sitting at the computer that I neglected to get the musicians’ names. Guess my journalistic career is up in smoke, along with my career as a ballet dancer. Ah well.
Very cool idea – wish they had programs like this here in DC.
Haha! Well, I have to confess that my appreciation for Jason Okamoto is less journalistic than, um, aspiring-groupie-istic. If that’s a word. And it’s never too late to have a groupie career, Bonnie! 🙂
He does have a great hairline, for sure. Better than Marcellus Hall?? I’m thinking of only maybe one or two more careers…
