At the beach the tides rule. A series of wind and rain storms kept us inside over the New Year’s weekend, but each day I ventured down to Josephine Young park (a few yards out our back door) to check the Bay. On New Year’s day there was a plus 8’1″ high tide. Combined with the wind and rain it made the usually placid Siletz Bay into a fairly fierce spot. Tons of birds wheeling around, the wind-tunnel noise of the wind–well I was feeling the need to connect with nature and that was the spot to be.
by Saturday things had calmed down and by Monday the bay was back to serenity
Sunday a lunch outing to Local Ocean Seafood in Newport where the fishing fleet was in:
Monday back to the valley amidst a torrential downpour. Ah January.
