Tonight we blasted up to Portland to the Cascade Aids Project auction. Roger was the juror for the live auction section of the evening, and it was a lively event. Valet parking, perfect. Entrance into old warehouse building complete with boiler and wine, and nicely tagged pipes over by the hors d’oeuvres:
and then the crowd milling around the silent auction area
where Roger ran into painter Tom Cramer
Then into the “dining room” for the main event: dinner and the auction. As our backs were to the runway we mostly watched it on the big TV screens.
Artist Sherrie Wolf was at our table and bravely sat through the auction of her own piece (a moment I really dislike for my own pieces)
Meanwhile back in the silent auction area Cirque de Soleil was dangling overhead
we had fun, they raised a lot of money, good night!!
