I think I mentioned that Kay and I are having a small show of quilts in October. She has a quilt I like, and I have a quilt she likes. Today we traded and I will “respond” to her quilt, and she to mine. Then together we will collaborate on a big quilt…so, to recap, 5 quilts all together, 2 of mine, 2 of hers, 1 collaboration. My quilt is inspired by Indian quilts and includes a piece of fabric she brought me from France. Her quilt is the inspired State of Oregon quilt. So here they are together:
Kay has some fabric ready to go
and so do I:
Off we go.

Looks like a very fun project. I love the idea of responding to each others quilts!
My mother died last October, but most nights, I cover myself with one of her beautiful quilts, and I feel comforted.
I have come to believe it’s the “hand” on. I’ve come to think I need to hand quilt and I need to give away or sell them…to put my comforting hand out there. I have an old quilt I bought for $3 at the Coeur d’Alene Goodwill that is such a comfort to me…somebody’s hand from across the years, calming me right down.
