Longtime readers of this blog may remember that my friend Ellen has been sending me a postcard from Vermont everyday for 12 years. This fall I made a trip to see her just before the momentous card number 5000 came.

We talked about friendships, memories, communication, life, death…all the subjects you might imagine….and a few more. She made us a LOVELY tea,

invited her good friends…we went to church, to Burdick’s for dinner, and said goodbye over a maple creamie.
We talked at length about the snail blog…the nuts and bolts of it…what it has come to mean to us.

This coming August I’ll be arranging the cards in some way or another, as yet to be determined, and this “exhibit” will be on view I the Focus Gallery at Salem Arts Association. There will be a magazine article about the Snail Blog. More about this when we’re closer, but for now, on we go. And in this season of imbalance, this is the voice I want in my ear, the village I’m glad to be a part of.

What a wonderful achievement!
The sending and receiving have become an affirmation…saying everyday that we’re still alive.
oh this is lovely, and something good to start this strange new world with…xxxxx
It’s high on the list of the things that give comfort …an important list right now.
i can’t wait for the exhibit! xo
It will be good I think 😊
Awfully nice pictures, but my writing sure is messy. Better shape up. ❤️E
It’s not totally penmanship related…critical mass will smooth it out…😎
What a lovely thing! Thank you for sharing this!
Such a delight to have a friend across the country to keep you entertained! We need them to help us thrive.
Glad you got to travel, helps to expand our souls.
Keep the Snail Blog going.
