Becky sent me an email this morning with a link to the website describing this grass-roots project: http://www.horseproject.net/ She wrote an article for Portland Magazine a few years ago about it. Do take a look as it IS cool.

Mending…
Okay–who even REMEMBERS mending. Besides me, I mean. My Mom would have a basket of socks to be mended and would sit and mend them by putting the “darning egg” in the sock and then sort of re-weaving the fabric to cover the hole. My friend Karen reminded me yesterday of the lovely store “And […]
Around Town…
While trying to find Katayama’s second gallery, we ran across a Tom Cramer mural from 1989 which looks like it has just been spruced up: While Roger had a conversation at Charles Hartmann Fine Art, I looked out the windows for a kind of neat view–it probably hailed about four times that afternoon between sunbreaks: […]
Reprise:
A couple of updates. The weekend brought a revisitation of a couple of themes from earlier posts. While eating breakfast at Autentica this morning I looked out the window and spied ANOTHER horse. This must be an art project of some sort, what do you think?? Woodstock at about SE46th, and NE 30th at Killingsworth. […]
SIDING ALERT!!!!
We arrived home to find a wonderful event on Court Street: The Jacobsen’s are removing the vinyl siding from their house. The house looks so much better already. HOORAY!!!
B’Day Week Update
It’s going pretty well–only two more days of fun left but thinking of the whole week as a festival has been good. Every day has had some real fun in it. Highlights include: The traveling bouquet and Irene’s nap at brunch. The wonderful lettuce wraps Carol made for my birthday dinner. The future mosaic at […]

We’ll be visiting the […]
We Brake for Studebakers
So Bru and I are driving around Seattle last weekend when we saw a gleaming Studebaker. Bru made a quick u-turn in the Mini and I jumped out to take a picture, finding my young life flooding back into my head: Remember white walls??
Living the Creative Life: Jon Colburn
Arvo the wonder dog. Well Jon moved into his new studio last weekend and is still in the “honeymoon phase.” For one thing, he can hardly comprehend how big it is. He’s preparing for a show in Portland in June, and glad to be moved in and ready to roll: Studio before, and Jon in […]
QUILTS
I went to Seattle to go to the Quilter’s Anonymous show at the state fairgrounds in Monroe, WA. This is a group of quilters from the northern part of Seattle. It was a show of quilts by members, all of whom had to have volunteered time in the past year for various events. It wasn’t […]
