It turns out the iMac software update to Leopard deletes the scanning ability of many units (I’m not alone in this). Two hours on the phone yesterday–TWO HOURS!!!__to finally get switched to a mac technician only to hear this “The mac support desk closes at 4:00 mountain time on Saturday…” You’d have thought “Kevin”–a totally Indian guy, could have told me that. Nevermind. I’m wilier now than I used to be and did manage to get a few little scans made but it just scanned one tiny bit at the center of the drawings. I was mad. But this morning I think they’re kind of cool.
I’ll bet you anything that “Kevin” was in Bangalore. I called the Verizon help desk the other day to get some help – I finally got our neighbor Greg, a true computer geek, to help me and I was fixed in 10 minutes – and I talked to this young woman for close to an hour. She was in the Phillipines. Very nice, but unfortunately clueless.
We now have a fully operational wireless network in the house. Amy can be in the studio at the desktop, and I can wander around with my laptop and we can both be online at pretty good speeds. It’s not cable, but it is so much faster than before, it feels like paradise to me.
I ilke the snippets too, and will stand by to see more.
Actually, I thing they can’t really understand us either, do you think??
