Another Fenestration Disaster:

Last week I saw this starting to happen and didn’t have time to take a picture.  When I went back today the deed was done–or almost done.  A nice old brick church with leaded glass windows–some of them casements.  The pattern was a diamond pattern.  The whole street side of the church had these windows.  But now: EEK!!!  The new windows have the snap-in plastic grids.

When I see this truck near an old building I grab my camera and run:

I walked around the whole building and there is only one of the original windows left, under layers of winvyl storms:

  1. A planned sneak attack. We see this happening constantly. CALL THE PRESERVATION POLICE!! And publish the @$!%&* company’s name that is the real conspirator.

  2. It’s the notion of property management types under 50 that all windows must be totally tight. The company just goes with the flow. Arghhhhh!!
