We must never tell anybody how great it is to live here in Oregon. Tom McCall was right.
So, okay. The traffic was bad, horrible. End of Memorial Day weekend. We took the short cut up _____ _________ road (well it’s a short cut, I can’t TELL you!!) We saw only one car in 30 minutes. We had to pass the clearcut, that’s true….
But then you get to see the fish weir–built in 1986 to help the salmon, steelhead and cutthroat trout return to their spawning ground. Quiet, only the rushing water. And yet less than 50 miles from home.
And then when you get home Roger makes a halibut fresh thyme dinner with a golden chard and red pepper melange with couscous. Life gets no better than this.
Yikes – what a fab trek home, and a feast to boot! Amy says we’re going to give some Halibut a bite soon.
