Pergola Research II: The Sequel

To quickly review:

We lost our beautiful swooping tree at the beach and the cottage looked too blank.

We found a local prototype that looked like it might work at our house

and Mike Perron built it.

we cut the rhodie on the left to the ground and planted clematis. The structure is cedar and should weather to the gray of the house pretty soon. We’re happy. Thanks Mike.

  1. We’re trying to get two clematis started over here on Inlet and it’s slow growing. The wind is breaking off the new shoots. I think tying them for support every few inches may be the answer? They obviously to do very well once established as there are sure some beautiful ones here in the ‘hood!

  2. I’m thinking we need to plant a couple more clematis for the eventual “Total” effect.

And don’t the photos reveal how cool the new orange screen door looks!! Thanks to How.
