Last night was the opening of the annual 100 Artists show at the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery. Every year the gallery sends out something, a box, a piece of cardboard, this year a book–to 100 artists. The artists spend a couple of months making the “item” into art, and all 100 pieces go on view each February. The work is all donated by the artists and the proceeds go to a charity–this year to Pimpollo, a home for abandoned kids in Mexico. The opening was packed–too crowded to really get pictures–except of my own piece–ahem. And then Kay’s. Check the Zeek website (on the blogroll) to see them all.
Mine is on top–with the leaves.
Kay’s is cool–shredded New Yorker pages inserted in the book page, book marks galore.
