Friday Roger gave a lecture at Oregon College of Arts and Crafts. When we got to the parking lot I saw this wall of stuff going up, with many students holding drills and hammers. The teacher Karl told me this was the end of a 5 day charrette for the wood students. Everybody made wooden things, put them down and picked up somebody else’s wooden thing and worked on that, all through the week. The teacher constructed the grid outside the wood studio and Friday the students spent the day “composing”. The piece will be left up for a while to weather, and begin to dismantle itself:
