I’m certain Christmas Day was a day of wonderful and meaningful reunions across the land–home from the war, home from college, etc. In my small world there was a tiny but delightful reunion. In 1991 I opened a restaurant and bought some earrings that became my trademark..I wore them everyday. Once I lost one and paid the maker (Thomas Mann) to make another. In 2003 I lost one again. As the restaurant was about to be sold I took it as a sign and began wearing other earrings (much to the relief of some friends…) At my brother’s on Christmas my niece Emma came up with her fist closed and said “Bonnie I have a surprise.” My lost earring!! Hooray!! ( This DOES NOT mean I’m opening another restaurant…)
