There’s nothing like settling in on a winter evening in a big comfy chair, pulling a quilt onto your lap and just quilting away for an hour or two. It is possibly one of life’s most calming activities (along with freecell). Just now I’m working on a quilt which combines some elegant Dutch fabric (the red and white print) and an old table cloth (red plaid). I’m quilting it all with perle cotton and large stitches. I’ve been looking at a lot of Indian quilts and particularly love the juxtapostion of cut pieces. I figure with the Olympics coming and occasional moments of “American Idol,” I’ll get a lot of quilting done this month!!
BTW, check how light it was in this view from the front porch at 5:15: the light returns!!!!
