The “Q” Breakfast…

Every day calligrapher Karen Runkel sends out a quote to her devoted group of followers from her vast 40 year collection of quotes.  Today (though she invited a third of her subscribers–the locals–which might be 100 souls total?) 4 of us showed up to join her at Alcyone for baked eggs:

…painter Sue-Del on the left, Karen herself and entreprenuese Irene on the right…Frankie was paying for her breakfast and didn’t get in the photo…

The conversation was lively and included death, politics, taxes, memory…oh…and ask Irene about the contest she won!!!

  1. The conversation was certaily stimulating. I felt privileged to be with such creative and erudite women even if I didn’t get in the picture. Truth be told, I don’t really like to have my picture taken anyway.

  2. What an interesting collection of women that was! Wish I’d been there. But then I’d have missed ten interesting women at my house in Port Townsend this afternoon discussing Oliver Goldsmith’s “The Vicar of Wakefield” and whatever else we felt like talking about. Interesting to me how easy it is to have guests when the house was cleaned by someone else on Tuesday and another woman in the group brought the refreshments. All I had to do was make coffee and tea, move couple of chairs, and lead the discussion. We meet every other month to discuss a “classic”.
