Billy Collins read poems last night to a packed house at Willamette.
It was free with no tickets, the doors opened at 7:00 and as Gretchen Moon said when she introduced him, to was nice to see people lined up for poetry instead of iphones of xboxes (whatever THOSE might be…) We were in the nose-bleed section but, as Collins himself said, the sound system was good. So were the poems and I had a happy time listening and free associating
You lucky dogs. I can even tell which poems he read by looking at your drawings. Must have been wonderful.
Oh, I wanted to go….but glad you made it! love the drawing!!
In your drawing I can see Litany, and Forgetfulness.
…the one about 17 haikus…the one about making a lanyard…about what a dog really thinks of his master…his random consideration of his life is enormously attractive and intersting, don’t you think?
