R received this gorgeous photo of Manuel from the mid-1980’s this week. It was taken by Portland photographer Aaron Johanson, and besides being a photo of R’s focus subject of this year, it’s a just a beautifully composed photo…interesting to look at even if you didn’t know a single thing about Manuel. The piece behind Manuel relates to his bronze piece that stands outside the Library at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. It is from a group of work called “Sheperds”…R isn’t sure about the plaster piece Manuel is working on in the photo…ANOTHER mystery to be solved…
