and bordering on the criminal. Soapbox time…it’s
hard to imagine the subdivision that will look good here…here in Road’s End, Oregon…
Even the meanest dwelling (sorry neighbor) looks better when softened with a mature tree nearby….
I was about to write “enough said,” but actually, there could never be enough said about the hideous practice of clear cutting for a subdivision…it’s an ugly idea…an an even uglier idea in a beautiful scenic part of the world…
Needless to say, I am appalled at that clear cutting. The site isn’t even compatible with development. I think they only wanted the money from the timber. It is truly the first rape of land that I have witnessed lately. At least they have to replant in the next two years. I won’t live long enough to see it returned to a beautiful forest.

Roads End has been our family favorite since 1988… this is heartbreaking. Thank you for the information. Any idea who is (so very poorly) “planning” this?
I couldn’t agree more! This needless destruction of open land for more sub-divisions has been breaking my heart for years.
The clear-cut mentality will catch the last fish in the sea and hunt down the last buffalo and wolf. And they will desecrate the final resources of the planet.
I join the chorus of grieving and anger expressed by you and all who have commented on this travesty. How is it that we never learn? I’m so very sorry.
