Three years of masking, staying in, making art in the dining room. Three years of absent friends, freezing chats on the front porch, accepting help with shopping, baking a lot of bread. The careening through traffic jams to the fairgrounds and swearing “Yes, we’re health care professionals “ (ha) for that first vaccine.
Finished. We have Covid and it’s a rough ride. And of all the many things that flood through my mind, the view from my recliner of the intersection of doors in this old house is what interests me. The moment. The breath.

Go get the pill that makes it easier.
Thinking of you and the doorways. Which one holds the prize behind it. I can see a series of door quilts in your future.
Take care.
Shirley
We felt the same way when we finally got it earlier this year. So frustrating. We just hope that it strengthens our immunity so that any future cases might remain milder. Speedy recovery.
Dammit!
Sending you healing love and energy 🙏❤️

Wishing you swift and easy recovery–with the scary thought that this could befall us, too!
Dear Bonnie – I just wanted you to know that I’m thinking of you and Roger, hoping you get to the other side of Covid in time to fully enjoy the rest of your summer. David and I got it during a trip to Mexico earlier this year – not fun. Take good care Bonnie, please say hi to Roger for me. Love, Laura
PS My daughter Georgia had a baby girl earlier this month – Alice (our first grandchild). I’m in NYC for the month of July to provide a set of helping hands…so in love with this baby. I have to say that your posts that include your grandchildren have been an inspiration to me – you are obviously an amazing and joyful grandmother. xo

Speedy and complete recoveries!
Oh dear! Take care of yourselves. Best wishes for a quick recovery.
Get well! We look forward to reconnecting in Idaho.
So sorry that the plague got you, but your creativity has overcome. Hope you are well soon.
Bonnie and Roger,
Such unwelcome news! Our thoughts are with you both.
Hoping, too, for more reflections later as you feel better, Dee & Dick
We hope that you will recover quickly. I cannot imagine how frustrating it is. Please let us know how you are doing.
Nice view! My older house in Alameda had a few views like, seeing 2 or 3 rooms. Many times I would stop and take it in.
I’m so sorry you have Covid. It is miserable and it seems to take longer to feel better after than any other virus I know. I hope that’s not the case for you and your husband, though.
I’ve always loved views through doors and windows, and this is an especially interesting photo of your doors. I think it would make an interesting drawing/painting, even more so if you opened the shade on the window. Take care!
There was a story in the past about artist Claudia Cave. Do you have an e-mail address that I can send some early illustrations that Claudia did in 1967?
Hadn’t been checking the blog. Hope you are both fully recovered by now. Sorry you had to deal with Covid.
