If you have an Apple product I sincerely hope you never encounter the rolling ball of death, like I have, on occasion. My computer was old by some standards (12 years) and had had two hard drive replacements. I really stopped writing this blog because I was doing it on my phone which, though possible, is no fun. And fun, though maybe hard to come by these days, is what “IT” is all about. Really, all I feel like doing is having some fun. Soooo, though this might have been my “exit” computer (I already have my “exit” vehicle), I got a new one with the help of my cheerful and very-long-suffering brother Bruce.
By the time the new computer came, Bruce had to supervise the installation from afar, using the back up hard drive he had gotten me a few years ago…and a new “hub” so old and new things could plug in….like my year-round Christmas lights…

And so the deed was done.

Ta da. It’s orange. Total fun.
And then Katy showed me how to make the photos rotate on my phone lock screen, so that every hour a new image of a loved one pops into view.

More fun. Enough of technology. Cheers.
Hooray for you.
Impressive, no? 🙂
Congrats! I recently did the same. As a graphic designer (retired), I had a snazzy desktop Mac setup…from 2009. I love those pieces, they’re gorgeous design. But its brain can no longer keep up. And emailing scans from it to my ipad to post…tedious. The cost to replace my good scanner is stupid – the exact same hardware, but its brain can’t deal! So annoying and insanely wasteful! So the old computer is still there to use with the scanner. But now I can transfer stuff to the new imac with a thumb drive….🙄 I don’t have a Bruce, so the tech guy was hired. That cost more than the new (refurbished) imac! Hopefully this is my last one.
Hi Bonnie!
I have a new Apple computer as well with a new screen! My laptop was 12 years old as well and almost had an exploded battery. YIKES!
I’ve been with Apple for a while and love it, but having to keep up with new stuff is good for the brain and also sometimes refreshing…
It was good to see you and Irene at Eunice’s gathering….
Hugs and hope to see you all sooner than later,
Hugs,
Jane
