Tomorrow we take off for three weeks in Italy beginning in Cortona where Roger will be the guest lecturer for an alumni program. After a week in the beautiful hill town we go with friends to a “Villa” in the Umbrian countryside for a week, then on to Florence for 4 days. We come home mid June and will be unplugged until then. To get myself (and you dear readers) in the mood I revisited some of the 2005 fun. See you June 18th.
Of course there’ll be a lot of coffee–this one in Sienna in 2005.
The Duomo in Firenze.
Exterior of the Uffizzi Museum. Uffizzi means offices, in this case for the Medici, but this has been a museum for 300+ years. We’ll make two trips to the Uffizzi this time around.
Palazzo Publico in Sienna. The group will go to Sienna one day to see Duccio’s “Maesta” as well as a big Ucello equestrian painting and the “Effects of Good and Bad Government”–always a pretty topical painting–by Lorenzetti.
…and then besides the art, there’s just Italy.

have a wonderful time
looking forward to your report and photos
