I took advantage of a sunny day today to prune roses, cut back ferns, and other winter-time garden chores…and as I hacked at the climbing roses (blinded by the sun) I was delighted that when the branches hit the ground, the bright orange rose hips were in profusion. I thought it might be a reward for being the good little worker that I was today!
