Marie Watt at the Hallie Ford Museum…

My final picture of the 2012 version of “Dwelling” with the artist Marie Watt, her daughter Evelyn, and the big stack o’ blankets.

Friday night was the ceremonial opening of the show, delayed for a month until Evelyn was born and Marie could be here from New York.  Marie spoke interestingly about her work and her life as a working artist…to a packed house,

and then we went down to the galleries…

Saturday morning Marie met a group of volunteers…the hardy band of sewers who bound blankets, plus the students who helped put the installations together…

and she walked us through the show with many interesting stories and insights…

You still have a couple of weeks to get into the Museum and see the show!
