Tonight there was a gala opening at the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery downtown. This month Mary Lou is featuring the work of 14 local artists in two exhibits, and has created a book with studio photos, photos of work and a statement by each artist. The idea is a truism…Art Builds Community…ABC…as easy as that. And tonight, there we all were, our lovely community of artists, honoring each other. It was a fine night. and here is photo evidence: the “card piece” as we say…(featuring Carol Hausser)

& if only any one of us could post to your blog, you’d all see bonnie, a stand out, eyes wide open & taking it all in with her natural artistic archival genius & camera & lovely smile. a memorable evening thanks to mary lou & all the artists, gallery visitors, & fate really. (sloy & nic)
Congratulations! Your mono prints look great.
That was a fine opening! Both nic and i are recluses, timid characters, but look how animated ol nic becomes when talking about art with Emily and others who love and live art too. As usual, we will be returning to the gallery more than once to actually SEE the work. We didn’t get to press our noses and eyeballs against the glass of your mono prints, but they sure look bright and somehow happy in your photographs here. Thanks for documenting the opening, Bonnie. And we certainly hope that Mary Lou and Alan’s son is doing well today and out of any danger. They we sorely missed last night.
