For some years the first Tuesday of the month has meant gathering at one house or another with a group of women I’ve come to know pretty well. We are very different from one another in many ways but we are all daughters, most of us are mothers, some of us are grandmothers, some are working, some retired…but we all quilt. Each of us has a strength and the room is always filled with ideas and appreciation for the work of the others. This month they came to our house and the day looked like this…
Bunny had a “snow day” off last week and instead of working remotely she sewed all day on this Jacquie Gering inspired quilt…all from shirts with one pair of pants and one skirt…
Meanwhile Kate brought the Kathy Doughty-inspired quilt that we all had “voted on” (the background anyway) last year…
Linda had made this sewing kit for Bunny…
and Bunny added the sheep in “drizzle stitch”…Plus Bunny made this Sue Spargo-inspired needle case…
It was interesting how often we used our devices to explain something…Here’s the Hawaiian quilt Kate’s grandmother made on a bed at Kate’s sister’s house…
Eve looking for something to make a point…
The Kathy Doughty spider web quilt Kate is attacking next…
Portable hand work …
me…
See you in April ladies…
So wonderful. Lifts my spirit. Thank you and all the women for sharing this inspiring work!
Sounds like a delightful way to spend a day! the Sheep are so cute ,and of course red and white quilts are always a winner to me.🙂
