Tonight was our public hearing before Landmarks Commission to get approval for our new desired garden shed. For several weeks we’ve had to display this sign outside the house: As “applicants” we needed to attend the hearing and present our case so here is one of us ready to testify: and here is city council […]

Summer Views
Some left-over shots that didn’t fit in any summer post, but which I liked anyway…starting with this REAL view from Irene and Jack’s terrace viewing west: (and look at this very slick way of blocking the western sun…just move the reed screen on the track…voila!) Ivy having it’s way with our house: Ginny & Gretchen […]
BRRRRR…
Which seems like a silly thing to say in mid-August. Escaping the heat in the valley was successful, but now we’re wearing three sweaters and shivering. Our bike ride after dinner through the quiet streets revealed one basketball player, and a deer. The bay was beautiful this evening after a day of hard work back […]

After a sleep-over Roger, Doug and Emma got up early to ride the Portland Bridge Pedal…5 bridges, 11.5 miles. Of course they took off from home so the whole event round trip was 21 miles!! Doug […]
HAND QUILTING…
After watering the white garden this morning, I was sitting on the deck quilting away on the State of Oregon quilt and musing about why I like hand quilting so much. I got out the first quilt I hand quilted and looked at it remembering that as I started, I didn’t know any of the […]
The White Garden
As we sat on the deck for supper tonight the last bit of sunlight hit the peegee hydrangea…my FAVORITE plant. As I ran for my camera and quickly got the shot, I noticed that the entire garden was drifts of white. Here is a stroll through our garden this evening: nicotiana the little hydrangea Amelie […]
