and MAKE A CARDAMOM CAKE!!! (You won’t be sorry…)
CARDAMOM CAKE (freezes well…)
1/2# butter 1 t. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar 2 1/2 t. cardamom
1 c. white sugar 2 1/2 t. cinnamon
2 eggs 3 c. flour
1 c. fat free sour cream (mix dry ingredients together in small bowl)
1. Preheat over to 325, pray and flour cake pan (I use old bundt pan)
2. Cream butter and sugars
3. Beat in eggs
4. Alternate dry ingredients with sour cream
5. Bake 1 hour at 325
6. Cool on rack in pan for 10 minutes…turn out and cool.
Cardamon cake is also good with chipped cranberries or lingonberries (more authentic if you can find them) in it.
the carrots in the Pink Martini photo look beautiful!
Chopped, not chipped! And I think my recipe calls for canned lingonberries with the cranberries as an alternative, but all I can ever find is lingonberry jam/preserves.
The cardamom cake was delicious, I’m here to tell you. And the house is a cozy, inviting place of light and warmth. Nice to see you two this afternoon.
Right back at you Doug…and Linnea I’d thought of the “craisins” BEFORE I made the cake…may have to make another cake!!
I see that we will need to get the featured Pink Martini CD.
The place looks perfect. Want some of our snow?
ohmygosh How…I saw the snow on your email…wow. But the little house looks so adorable…any sign of the tiny Thoreau??
Tracks. Into the woods, and back. A small pile of peels – looks like he’s doing roasted root vegetables in there. Some lights from under the door – guess he’s getting comfy in this winter world.
just made my christmas spirit inflate pretty nicely!
