TOO MUCH FUN…

So Friday we headed out to the beach through the fog and rain…

…luckily I’ve discovered I can sew while Roger drives…(this is not quite as bad as when I just nap, but it keeps me pretty quiet…)

and Friday night we went to a sort-of-strange-but-ultimately-hilarious ukulele concert by an Italian guy who calls himself “Ukulollo”…

The Domijans arrived later and the laughing started.  Honestly.  Meanwhile though I got an email from Sally with a link to a cool site with an idea for painting nails…(when she saw it she thought of me??…Sally??…)

so OF COURSE Jennifer and Fanny and I HAD to experiment…right after driving to Local Ocean Seafood in Newport for lunch for some truly truly fabulous pumpkin mole soup (recipe anyone??)

…and mussels and clams too…tuna skewers…

Have you gone there yet?  It’s seriously good.  But then, later…nails.

First you put on the polish…and find some newspaper stuff…

and while the polish is drying you eat some roasted chestnuts George has made…

then you soak your nails (one by one) in VODKA (???) yep…and apply the newspaper…

basically, for you art-types, it’s a transfer print!  (And maybe not far off from transferware, hence thematic for this blog?)

After a glass of wine and some dinner you put on clear polish to seal the deal.  Our niece Fanny was a purist and a prefectionist, and her nails came out the best…

the rest of the weekend we wandered around and did fun stuff, movies, beach walks, etc…and even found a “blue wall” for the now-traditional family photo op…

…which raises the question, what would YOU choose for a 6 letter license plate?  (Rex has already weighed in with PRELIM…)

  1. That family photo is awesome! And the Pumpkin Mole soup looks good enough for the long drive down there from Rockaway some rainy afternoon. 🙂
