The Quilted Conversation…
This morning we went over to see the show of Kay’s and my quilts at Bush Barn that went up while R and I were gone. Included were the quilts Kay and I each made in “conversation” plus the one we collaborated on this summer. The show looks good but is in a dark space […]
Quilts hit the road…
Travel time. I’m putting the last bit of quilting on the collaboration quilt, and off it goes to Kay for her to finish. (The show goes up the first week of October at Bush Barn Art Center…Quiltopia week…) the “reconfigured” wedding ring (the Project Space project) goes along with me to Hawaii, with my goal […]
Crazy Quilts
Until I have the new studio and can paint, it’s quilts all the way. I was reading Barbara Brackman’s blog this morning about crazy quilts which sent me to my own photo archive. A few years ago I happened into the Lincoln County Historical Museum at the end of the quilt inventory day, people brought […]
The Last Day at Project Space…
PHEW. Finished up today and removed the mess and most of the stuff leaving only the following: the former double wedding ring and a detail of same and the collages neatly installed in a book for easy viewing
A Beautiful Sunday at the Beach

How do we know what color to use, which fabric to choose, when a painting or collage or quilt […]
Project Space…8-19-10
Paula and I worked for quite a while today…she preparing for a show, me just keeping on. She’s finding the large walls and open spaces in PS3 to be a tonic: I started the day thinking I’d make collages, but instead went straight to reassembling the double wedding ring:
The Collaboration Quilt…
Kay’s been working on the collaboration quilt and now I’m taking it to the beach for a few days to work on it. Our deadline is approaching, but I think we’ll make it!
The State of Oregon quilt…
I’m interested in an Indian form of quilting called “kantha” practiced by Bengali women(“urban and rural” so the internet says.) It began as a way to make quilts from old fabrics…layers and layers stitched together for reuse. The fabrics would be spread on the ground, smoothed and loosely sewn together. Then the women could carry […]
