Over at Project Space 3 the studio artists met this week. Sadie went WAY over in the corner to play her music while I began to get interested in shadows. Here’s Layne’s

Project Space 3…Performance
Wow a wonderful evening. Mike Nord and Makoto Matsushima gave a wonderful improv performance Wednesday night in Project Space playing off of the Rachel and Adam Rothstein construction we’ve been watching go up. Adam and Rachel were there to answer questions, and to see their piece used as inspiration for the performance. The audience was […]

Better get down to Project Space tomorrow for first Wednesday…the Rothsteins have made progress and the “environment” is looking interesting. 150 Liberty ST NE, 5-8…and it’s dog night too, so bring your pup. …and I notcied “it” was creeping up the stairs…
Project Space 3
Project Space is about to be up and running again. This will be the third year and it looks like a sensational summer ahead. The space this year that has been donated by Roger Carmen, is the old Metropolitan store at 150 Liberty NE. There will be three big exhibits, each a month long, plus […]
Progress Report…
A good day in the studio…things are beginning to come together. The show that opens May 7th will feature 2 1/2 months of my work as the artist in residence in the Annex Studio, and I’m kind of amazed at how much I’ve done. Twenty works on paper are being framed, 8 paintings are more […]

Here’s the scene right outside my patio door: and a closer view reveals bleeding heart: these cool little bamboo things: One of […]
Clay Ball!!
Last night was the big fund-raising “Clay Ball” for Salem Art Association. In these hard times for non-profits it was more important than ever for this community to come out to support the arts…and the place was packed. We arrived a little late to the silent auction area just in time to see the end […]
Friday report from the Annex…
The other day I found the plug for this string of lights which adds a jaunty air to the annex studio After a month the studio is beginning to feel like my own, especially Friday when Deb and her volunteers arrived to get the art work for the big fund-raising auction THE CLAY BALL. Everything […]
The Annex, week 2, and a Valentine…
A busy week in the new studio–though not as much time as I would have liked. While I have this nice space I wish for all the details of daily life to go away for a few months but, alas, groceries, errands, the gym, etc.. still claim time. This week too the auditors were using […]
