Oh the world of blogging is snarly sometimes…or maybe it’s the world of computers…thankfully my brother Bruce can drive a mini-cooper full of lumber through Seattle traffic, diagnose what happened that made my blog refuse to take photos, talk me through the changes and VOILA…I’m back in business. This is for Bru with thanks….

Summers Past…
Consumed as we are by the flurry of summer activity around here, it’s kind of nice to check our long ago past activities…me as an “only child” (which didn’t last too long…) up near Ishpeming, MI… R helping his Dad white wash the basement for a TV room, with sister Carolyn possibly helping and Piatt […]
This One Goes Out to Dave…
Oh thank goodness Dave wanted to see more of Ian’s truck…(since I took a TON of photos…). It’s a 1941 Dodge pickup which had been customized a bit when he got it…though Ian has done a lot to it himself. After he got the truck, Ian realized he actually had a 1942 license plate hanging […]
An American Day…
Our 4th of July had all the usual elements for a great holiday…beautiful surroundings: …a little work…fix the screen door, put up the trellis, weed…wash the windows… good food… SPARKLERS!!!! and…FIREWORKS… Campfire with s’mores at the Zeeks… and the next day off they go
“The Hollow”

Take a stroll…start at the drive… The Carnabys have been gardening […]
News Notes…
I think I might be taking my “girl reporter” role a LITTLE too seriously. I Just HATE it when the local paper scoops me. A month or so ago I noticed this building at 440 State Street…that the hideous 1960’s false front had been removed revealing a sort of “time capsule”… and before I could […]
Living the Creative Life: Corrie Loomis-Dietz
Corrie lives in this nice Italianate house on the right… and her husband Curt is just putting the finishing touches on the workshop/garage (ground floor) and Corrie’s new studio space on the top floor…(the local Historic Landmarks Advisory Commission required them to make the windows smaller and offset the porch so the new building wouldn’t […]
Project Space Opening….
I was down at Project Space today for my daily 2 hours…Friday night, June 29th is the opening for round one…5:30 to 8:30. There will be refreshments, art and music… I’m only a couple of weeks into my project so my contribution is small… Liz Bauman has been painting like a maniac…and they’re wonderful and […]
Tuesday Miscellany…
My mind is deep into my Project Space project, but I AM alive and always photo’ing…beach weekend with rain predicted turned out to be beautiful for the kite festival… and for sitting by the Bay… AND for hosting Sharon’s surprise birthday party…(and she really was surprised!) …and did you check out the MIG pizza yet? […]
The Iltis Garden
Went up to see Dick and Dee’s garden recently (before the Alaska trip) while the trilliums were still in bloom. Theirs is really an early spring garden and we missed the real season, but “as advertised” there were trilliums…PLUS…jack in the pulpits, things with tiny leaves and things with giant leaves…take a stroll…Dick and Dee […]
