Up until 2010, Labor Day meant back to school at our house, but now it just means end of summer bounty and weather, and fall still ahead to look forward to.

Seattle quilts…
The first stop on the quilting tour last week took us to the Bellevue Art Museum where there is a wonderful show of the collection of African American quilts gathered by Corrine Riley…and they were pretty inspirational… with this as one of my favorites… and that was a pretty hard choice, as they were all […]
Hanging the show….
Antidote to the heat: the Oregon coast, where we went from 96 to 64 in under an hour. PHEW! But today we zoomed back in to pick up my work from the framer’s and hang the show down at Project Space…and the curator did most of the work… The work is two series of mono-print […]
Functioning in the Heat…
R is high-functioning, as you know. Heat doesn’t seem to stop him. He doesn’t sit around complaining like some of us (ahem)…he just keeps on going. Here he is dancing with his cousin Lisa at Zach’s wedding (102 AT LEAST!) (The two of them used to write novels together when they were growing up in […]

You can skip the blog tomorrow…when I’ll try to give many of the most wonderful details…for those with a need to know…flowers…family…the Last Regiment Syncopated Drum Corps…all […]
The Wedding Countdown…one more day…
The hunter/gatherers (that would be R & me) went to Minto yesterday and “harvested” some Queen Anne’s Lace to fill out the wedding flowers. This morning we go get the dahlias and off we go, appreciative of all your good wishes…
The Wedding Countdown…Two More Days…
This is probably the last pre-wedding post I’ll make…tomorrow, “one more day,” will involve us getting up early to cut dahlias at Sharon’s, zooming to Portland, the rehearsal and dinner, etc….I guess I’ll make one more big wedding post AFTER the fact…and then it will be back to “On The Way” as you know it […]
